Attended a jewelry making class. Was asked to bring old necklaces to learn how to repair them. Nice. Mom has been wanting a white necklace. Meanwhile, there were several with broken clasps in the drawer for the one day when we would get to repairing them. The day was finally here.
After repairing Mom's pearl necklaces, I pulled out a hematite necklace given to me yrs ago. The clasp never worked. But I loved the stone. A steel grey color. Once completing with the clasp the ins tructor pulls out some semi-precious stones, amethysts, and said, "would you like to enhance your necklace?". Thus, the adventure began.
The hours flew by. Examined stones. Looked for others. Didn't know what I was looking for, but I knew I would recognize it, once I saw it.
As I am in the zone of creativity, I was passed a slice of pizza. A slice with ham and pineapple. A took bites and worked. Then a slice of pepperoni pizza. Continued to bite and work. I was focused on the necklace. Mindlessly eating. Diet begone.
Introducing my first piece. At the last moment I made earrings to create a set. Wore it home.
The excitement of creativity trumped weight loss. But why not have them both.
Today, I got back on the road to further weight loss. Must remember to take my own snacks next week.
Lost another pound today. Probably because yesterday morning was a Walk NYC day.
